Developing Women Leaders in Technical Cultures (℠)

For Technical and Non-Technical Women
in Technical Organizations

2 day workshop, November 1 and 2, 2011

Sponsored by MIT Professional Education
- Career Reengineering Program

Women in technical environments are required to prove themselves on a continual basis.  Due to their small representation in technical environments, they may also feel critiqued more closely.   Research shows that women’s performance is rated differently than their male counterparts.  So how does a woman have her voice heard, her influence felt, and how can she excel in a technical culture?

Past Participants' Testimonials

“Inspirational. It will get you out of whatever rut you are in!”

“I have more concrete and actionable feedback than I've ever received. It has helped me to see how and why acting on this feedback could change the course of my career.”

“Enlightening in terms of learning about the perceptions of key constituents and how I fit into my company's culture.”

This two-day workshop will help women navigate the technical culture to make sure their contributions are recognized. This is a unique developmental opportunity because it provides women with:

  • candid feedback on leadership skills through an individual 360 assessment
  • enlightening research on bosses’ views of what it takes to be successful in technical environments
